Jhansi is a city in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, located in the region of Bundelkhand. It is the administrative headquarters of Jhansi district and Jhansi division. The city is known for its historical significance and is famous for the Rani Laxmi Bai, the Queen of Jhansi, who was a leading figure in the Indian Rebellion of 1857. The city is also known for its many temples and forts, including the Jhansi Fort, which was built by Raja Bir Singh Deo in the 17th century.
