Khajuraho
Khajuraho is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, known for its group of Hindu and Jain temples. These temples were built between the 9th and the 12th centuries AD during the Chandela dynasty. The temples are famous for their intricate carvings and sculptures, many of which depict human and animal figures, as well as gods and goddesses.
The temples are divided into three groups – western, eastern, and southern. The most famous temples among these groups are the Kandariya Mahadeva Temple, the Chaunsath Yogini Temple, and the Matangesvara Temple. The temples are also known for their erotic carvings, which comprise a small percentage of the total art, but have made the temples a major tourist attraction.
Khajuraho, being one of the UNESCO World Heritage Site and a major tourist destination, it is well connected with the major cities of India through air, road and rail transport.
